Matt Damon in Japan

18th November 2007

Posting this video because a funny thing happened to me last night. After a couple hours of karaoke I was about to leave the place with my friends when I was approached by some Japanese salarymen; “Matto Damon-san desu ka?” (Are you Matt Damon?). I said yes, sure I am Matt Damon. “Heee…Ohh.. Matto Damon san.. za bourne uritimatumu)
Well, that is about how fun I have, walking around impersonating Matt Damon.

Earthquake!

29th October 2007

Just kidding, it is a training simulator! But it was fun! A real earthquake here in Japan is usually not this powerful!

Yasuo Fukuda, Japan´s next prime minister?

18th September 2007

fukuda This is the first name I have heard so far now that Abe is quitting. There will not be much change. Apparently Fukuda is also supporting the refuelling missions in the Indian Ocean. Unclear though, if he will visit the Yasukini Shrine.

Go to North Korea! Good news for all English teachers!

8th September 2007

teachFor many years teaching English has been a great way for westerners to spend time in Japan. The terms and pay can be very good if you give private lessons in the corporate environment and they can be more harsh if you are with a language school. Anyway still a great opportunity for an adventurous time in Japan.
But listen up now Sensei-sama! North Korea is looking for English teachers! Will Pyong Yang be as fun as Tokyo? They babes and the beer? Unfortunately only open for British subjects, but that may change. I am eagerly waiting to read the blog of the first ELT in El Norte!

The blog universe

29th August 2007

Having a blog is hard work and a lot of fun. The most fun part is all the unexpected things that happen. Like all the people out there contacting you. Most are very friendly and supportive, and you also hear from a few with business proposals. I wrote an article a while back about the Japanese hair dresser QB. It’s a chain that offers fast and low price hair cuts. A few days ago I got this e-mail:

RE: QB HAIR DRESSING SALOON I am sourcing for contact details of QB Hair Dressing Saloon. I am planning to set-up the same concept in Saudi Arabia & the middle-east. Please help. Thank you. (name withheld)

So, someone read about QB on my blog and now want to start a franchise in Saudi Arabia? Wow! Well, all in a days work for a blogger.
