More than fifty thousand people had gathered in the Tokyo Dome on December 2 to see the finals in the K-1 World GP 2006. A noisy arena, but the cheapest tickets for 4000 yen give a nice view from the gallery. They always have the same female announcer at the K1 here in Tokyo and her high pitched voice is not the highlight of the event. Winner of this years K1 World GP 2006 in Tokyo is Semmy Schilt! He beat Peter Aerts in the final who had to stand in for Remy Bonjasky who had been kicked in the balls. More about this soon!

Yes, finally it’s time for the heavy weights in K1 World GP 2006 in Tokyo! December 2 in Tokyo Dome, and your humble narrator will be there to watch. This is the once a year heavy weights fights. Fight time again. This time the tournament was in Nagano. Got up at four in the morning to go with the crew from my Dojo in a chartered bus to the former Olympic city. This was big. Fights on eight mats at the same time in the Olympic arena. Mostly Zendokai clubs taking part, but also a few other full contact styles that I couldn’t determine the name of.
