When moving in Japan people bring their fridge, sometimes stove and AC with them. We decided to buy a new AC system for our new house. Yes, this means six units (3+3)! This being very expensive we managed to find a good deal on the internet. Three systems for 100 000 Yen.

Can’t resist sharing this. L lives in Chiba and works as a teacher but every new and then she shares her songs over YouTube. I always enjoy when there is a new one posted. This one is a tribute to her sister Melissa.

Last week was Japan´s biggest holiday, “Golden Week”. With only Tuesday and Wednesday not being national holidays most (all) business close and people get a week off. The problem is everybody gets their week at the same time. All 128 million of them. I must admit that the main stream media coverage of Japan´s prime minister Shinzo Abe´s visit to America didn’t make much sense. It was plain boring. I figured his visit was only courteous and that he wanted to say hello to Mr Bush. After reading the analysis on the blog of AMPONTAN the things got another perspective. Read the rest of this entry »
