Family Mart is one of the big convenient store chains here in Japan. F’ed Gaijin picked up the story on the magazine they sell about criminal foreigners in Japan.

I decided to check it out so went down to my local Family Mart to see for myself. They had the magazine on display as you can see in the photos. Among other things in the magazine “GAIJIN HANZAI URA FILE” we can read about how Tokyo has become a city of criminal degenerate foreigners. Here are some excerpts translated by BigDaikon:

日本における外人犯罪件数年間47000件!!
47,000 crimes by foreigners each year!!
There then follows a ‘danger rating’ (危険度) of each country, scattered on a world map surrounded by knives, guns and syringes:
China: 14
Russia: 5
Korea: 9
Brazil: 8
Colombia: 3
Etc.
None for the USA, Canada, Australia or the whole of Europe…

In the magazine there is also pictures of foreigners with their Japanese girlfriends. This accompanied by writing that I will not quote here. What having a Japanese girlfriend has to do with criminal activity is not made clear.

I am all for free speech and that. Sure I was aware of that there is a right wing bordering racist side in politics here. But a magazine full of racial slur and hearsay in one of the major convenient stores is more than I expected. Still, the guys at f’ed gaijin seem to take it as a big joke and laugh about it. Maybe that’s the best attitude towards this. Mahalo.
